MEET THE TEAM
Anthony Petro was born and raised in Southern California. He has been surfing over fifteen years. From 2009 – 2016 he lived in Hawai’i on the island of O’ahu where he perfected his skills as a waterman. Since his return to California, he was appointed Director of Operations at his friend’s surf school, Malibu Surf Coach. For the past ten years he has built complete training structure into surf education and ocean safety programs for children and adults. His goal is to now spread the joy of surfing in a fun and friendly environment for all ages and skill levels.
Matthew Markman is a Southern California native. In 2010 his life changed. He realized a growing population is looking for comprehensive condensed surf training which would otherwise require decades of dedicated practice and study. Now, with over thirty years’ experience in the water and nearly a decade of program development, his goal is to execute custom programing for the ultimate experience
Steele Pace is a So Cal native raised in Venice beach. Surfing over twenty years and teaching more than ten years, Steele now specializes in videography/ photography. He is often capturing content for our social media with camera in hand. If you see him on the beach during your next lesson, be sure to turn your shred level to 100! Surfer, professional skateboarder and all-around waterman from the Big Island of Hawai’i, Makena has been teaching and coaching surfing for eight years. He has dedicated his life to spread Aloha and teach the art of surfing!
Doug has been surfing for twenty years. He grew up surfing on the East Coast. Surfing in ESA contests, then moved after high school to attend the University of Hawai’i, where he lived for eleven years, surfing some of the best waves in America.
Daniel Robinson is a Malibu native. Professional longboarded at the age of fourteen, now turned professional surf coach. He grew up surfing the infamous Surfrider beach, also known as first point. He has recently finished a book based on non-fictional characters that reside around Malibu, it’s called “The Bu’’. When he’s not writing, you may see him hanging ten on one of the best waves Malibu has to offer.
